Health Measures On Departure                                                                     Health Measures On Arrival


(IHR 1969,Chapter II, Article 30 and Indian Port Health Rules 1989,Part V Sub Part A, Rule 31)

Article 30 :  1) The health authority of the port (the frontier port) shall take all practicable measures

                       a) To prevent the departure pf an infected person or suspect

                       b) To prevent introduction of possible agent of infection or vectors

                  2) If the area is declared as infected the crew of the ship requires a valid certificate to that effect.

                  3) The health authority, if he considers necessary may examine any person before his departure on an
                      international voyage.

                  4) a crew on an international voyage if on arrival is placed under surveillance; he may be allowed to
                      continue on the voyage. However, the health authority must be notified of the place to which he is
                      proceeding.
